Our Method

How Montessori Practical Life Activities Nurture Confident, Capable Babies

.

Supporting Independence
using sensory play

In our sensory classes we go beyond the traditional 5 senses - visual, auditory, olfactory, gustatory, and tactile - to provide a more profound exploration of the physical world. Following the Montessori method, our curriculum incorporates specialized exercises to develop basic perception, which allows children to discern subtle differences in weight and pressure and pressure, a thermic sense, helping them identify variations in temperature. We also emphasise stereognostic development, a "mental imagery" skill where children identify objects through touch alone by combining tactile input with muscle memory. Finally, we integrate kinaesthetic awareness, focussing on the body's position, movement and posture.

In our classes, we nurture Independence from the very start, grounded in the principles of the Montessori philosophy. This is primarily achieved through engaging Practical Life activities tailored specific for a baby's age and developmental stage.

The babies will learn through purposeful exploration, engaging in activities such as a careful action of chopping a banana with a child-safe tool, investigating their senses by tasting a variety of citrus fruits, or exploring textures with their hands feeling different fabrics and their unique textures.

Montessori's Holistic approach to education

Our classes are meticulously prepared to nurture all facets of a child's growth - intellectual, social, emotional, and physical.

Academic learning is interwoven with opportunities for developing self-esteem and internal motivation, fostering emotional intelligence through respectful social interactions, and enhancing coordination via purposeful, hands-on activities.

By supporting this balanced development, the Montessori environment ensures children grow into well-rounded individuals who possess not only a deep love for learning but also the concentration, discipline and compassion necessary to contribute positively to the world.

The prepared environment and Self-directed learning

The cornerstone of the Montessori philosophy is the concept of the prepared environment, a thoughtfully designed classroom setting that serves as the essential link to fostering a child's self-directed learning.

Our classes will offer a range of toys and activities tailored for each age group.
